UPDATE:
The doorstop is now in use at the house in Kent:
.
oOo.
A tall, heavy, doorstop made for my daughter and son-in-law to keep their French window door open - the height being necessary as there is a significant step down from the house floor level.
It's a hollow column 40cm tall with a base and top-cap, with gravel in the column to add weight.
Made from oddments of timber left over from the deck I built at our former house - it's Yellow Balau (a hardwood similar to Teak). Total cost (apart from some glue, about a dozen screws, yacht varnish and the gravel) was £4 for the t-shaped handle!
The picture, for demonstration purposes, is with it against my garage door.
