Another east-London shop - a tailor I frequented in the 1960s & 70s (from Spitalfields Life, 3 February 2025)
I must have had about 8 suits and a blazer made there over the years.
Charles was the man - measured you, choose the cloth, return for a rough fitting with one arm that was ripped off as he made adjustments - trousers were out-sourced to a factory.
I still use some of their branded wooden coat-hangers and a clothes brush.
From the late 1970s onwards I found I could buy off-the-peg suits from the High & Mighty chain of shops.
