Dining table and bench update:
The original plywood table (2020 vintage) was repurposed as a dining bench - cut down and fitted with shorter hairpin legs - it works : with 3 grandchildren having sat on it for Christmas lunch!
Still disappointed with the grain and colour (Stretek plywood) on the new table so I'm investigating Birch plywood again as it may be becoming available again in the top grades.
The plan is to buy a sheet of 9mm and glue that to the top of the table (2 x 18mm thickness) and using a router to trim all four edges flush - making a 45mm thick top with exposed edges, and cut the legs down accordingly.
