Another bit of nostalgia - having grandparents and great-grandparents that lived in East London, and working in the area I have some interest - a blog I follow, Spitalfields Life, had this photograph today (12 December 2024) amongst pictures of barber shops in the 1950s & 60s.
In 1964-5 I worked at a printing company in Rosebery Avenue, London EC1 - just around the corner from this hairdresser in Laystall Street where I used to get my haircut.
It's in Clerkenwell, the Italian quarter of London - the owner of the shop was Luigi (what else could he be called? 😊)
